When you opened your business, you might not have thought about parking lot maintenance. But now that you’re open and your business is growing, it’s time to start thinking about the big picture. Is it a good use of your time to be out in your parking lot picking up trash? Do you have the proper equipment to sweep your parking lot? The answer to both questions is probably “No.”
As any retailer will tell you, the first step to making a sale is getting prospective customers to walk in the front door. But the truth is that the first step is actually getting them to pull into the parking lot. A dirty parking lot might not quite discourage them, but it certainly doesn’t leave the best first impression. It makes them wonder what other details that you’re neglecting. A clean parking lot, on the other hand, shows them that you care, and can also increased the perceived value of your product or service.
As much as we all love living in The Natural State, we know that the weather can be unpredictable. Seasons don’t seem to begin and end when they’re supposed to, and a bright sunny day can quickly turn into a severe thunderstorm, or worse.
